There are many people frantically searching for the expected VITEEE(Pronounced as “WITTY”) cutoff.People are asking me if they’ll get into VIT or not.It is very difficult to predict something like this due to the marking scheme.There is no clear figure available for last years cutoff either.Some people say that in VITEEE 2007 the topper scored 105.Different people claim different numbers.Frankly speaking,you will not find the cutoff anywhere.But I have a solution to this which will give you an idea of where you stand.
Here’s the solution
I advise everyone who reads this post to post a comment and write your expected marks in it.Then Bookmark this page and visit it in a few hours and compare your marks with others marks.This way you will get an approximate idea of where you stand.Perhaps we can generalize these marks to get an approximate idea of the VITEEE 2008 cut-off.

The avg placement package 4 vit is just Rs 2.95 lacs a yr[or 24000 a month] nd its ranked a meagre 51st in aicte placement lists.now compare dat to

nsit-rs 4.25 lacs
iit delhi-rs 8.95 lacs
thapar punjab-rs 4.15 lacs
maharaja agrasein[IP univ. delhi]-rs3.85 lac

so for those whu r wise enough vit shud not even b a choice unless u do horrendously bad in iit, aieee,bits,dce/nsit……
so 4 those in delhi dere’s dce/nsit ,ip and bits still to go,so still enough oppurtunities left but for others outside delhi its tym for sum pro help

abhi-65 to 70 is good enough for a decent course.You might not get CS or IT though.

Naitik-63 to 66 can get you a seat in VIT.You won’t have too many choices for the course though.
Ankit-AIR of 5,000.That’s good.
deepak-it is possible and most probably you will get these.
ritu raj-102,that’s a cool score.You’ll be in the top 1000 and can get any course.
Kuku-54.You will be called for counseling-not now but eventually.You can probably get mech,electrical or civil
Sandeep-160 will get you merely to the JEE extended merit list.80 in viteee will get you a good course like cs or it.In AIEEE you’ll merely be in the top 10,000.Don’t hope much.Your only hope is VIT.

Nilay-YES you will get into VIT.
PLACEMENTS-There are too many fools in VIT and some paid seats too.Don’t worry about placements.If keep your GPA high,nobody can deny you a good placement.If you really study hard at VIT,its the perfect place for you.The figures mentioned above are correct but as I said there are paid seats which spoil the average.

The paper is tough.There will not be many students that score more than 100. About 5% of the seats might be filled with students who get more than 100. 15% of the seats might be filled with 75 to 100 marks.There may not be many takers between 75 to 120 range as they opt for IIT,AIEEE and local good engineering colleges. 35 T0 40% might be with the students score between 60 and 75.
Balance 40 TO 45% with 50 to 60 marks.
So students who get more than 50 can hope for VIT.

@Anon-Civil might be the best branch for you.
@Anon-VIT.You might think differently.Ask somebody who’s professionally into it.
@Anirudh-The result is 6 days away.Just wait and watch.Last year people with 48 marks were called for counseling.Ranks are bound to improve.
@Anon-That’s exactly what I think.
@ishan-71 is not good enough for top 6000 but you will get admission as ranks will improve
@Ishan- Dual degree with CS or IT as basic degree may not be possible. With other branch viz.,civil,mech.,ECE, EEE as basic degree I think you can pursue IT as second degree. Check prospectus.
