There are many people frantically searching for the expected VITEEE(Pronounced as "WITTY") cutoff.People are asking me if they'll get into VIT or not.It is very difficult to predict something like this due to the marking scheme.There is no clear figure available for last years cutoff either.Some people say that in VITEEE 2007 the topper scored 105.Different people claim different numbers.Frankly speaking,you will not find the cutoff anywhere.But I have a solution to this which will give you an idea of where you stand.
Here's the solution
I advise everyone who reads this post to Click Here To Post a Comment and write your expected marks in it.Then Bookmark this page and visit it in a few hours and compare your marks with others marks.This way you will get an approximate idea of where you stand.Perhaps we can generalize these marks to get an approximate idea of the VITEEE 2008 cut-off.

I think 70+ will get a rank less than 2000 or 2500.
Mind you I didn't study for the bloody exam. The worst part is that I'm CBSE and there are a hell lot of state board students who write this exam. Is VIT usually only for state boards?????I don't know.

Well people with marks greater than 70 can hope to get if people don't go for counseling which usually happens.
Someone commented above about 20000 rank being called for counseling.I haven't heard about it.But yes ranks higher than 6000 are called for counseling.
Anyone who's getting more than 70 can be optimistic.The cut-offs might go down this year.

Rank doesn't matter as many of the top rankers will not join VIT.Don't worry you'll get a decent rank and course

amol kumar,you can expect civil or better but it depends completely on counseling.It may be possible that some seats remain vacant in other branches as well.

I can see a few 80s and a couple of 90s.Perhaps the cutoff for the top 6000 can fall to 80.
hey i am getting around 70-80 according to your solutions and i think that some of the solutions may be wrong (altough you also my be right, only the results can decide that) just tell me what can i expect though a teacher of mine who contacted one of her former students at VIT tells me that the cutoff last year fell to about 48 for some tech programs.

Crazy4-You can expect these courses.you have a good chance.
Saurabh-70 should be good enough for bio courses.
Mansi-You have a chance of making it.
Jaskaran-You've made a nice point.This year it might even fall to 45.Can you exactly tell the programs for which the cut-off was so low?Perhaps everyone can start hoping again.
Rest of You-70+ will get into VIT in a decent stream after jumping ranks.80+ is perhaps good enough for the top 6000 to be called for counseling.People with marks less than 70 can wait for Jasakaran's information about last year.You can still hope.

phy--1. Meter bridge the ques is incomplete but answer can b only A or C
2.When electrical appliance is switched on ......answer must be C (not sure abt this one)
maths --1. diff eqn ques...

the answer is A (sure abt this)
2.Area of triangle in vector form

1\2 is not printed in option D

sonu u are a liar. there is now way that u can get over 200 in JEE and manage only a 83 in VIT. The paper wasn't that tough unless of course u knew the questions of JEE beforehand and had memorized their answers.
and the answer to the 2 maths question was d. area of the triangle= 1/2*|side1*side2|. so if it is a median the answer cannot come the same as above.
There may be some wrong answers as mentioned by sonu.
But for this question:
"chem - boiling acetamide with acid -----answer is acetic acid"
i think there is no wrong. the solution given was also the acetic acid.
And for the diff.eqn. question, the correct answer is option(B)itself. I don't know where he(sonu)gone wrong.
Anyway congrats 4 sonu for getting into IIT.

I am gettn 243 in Jee bcoz i had worked very hard for it ...the semiconductor and stuff really ruined it for me in VIT ,.. I am a dropper and had read it 1.5 years ago and forgot!!!
yes i remember having got the JEE ques paper and answers posted to my house a few weeks before the exam and still i managed only 243!!Such a loser i am???

hello people u all look in lots of worries.I am student of IITDelhi.
I want to clear that vit is not good in their placement and education.They have got 10/20 for their placements.
I want everyone to concentrate on aieee and i know many of u must have cleared IIT.
VIT has been given 43rd rank in engineering colleges in INDIA.
There is lots many colleges in INDIA better than VIT.
I know everyone getting marks beyond 75 would make it ultimately but everyone getting above 75 has the potential to get good rank in AIEEE.

There are 12 NIT's above VIT and many more good colleges.

thanks for the info naman. ermm i know this is not the right place to ask this,but; I was reading some other blogs and ppl have some pretty nasty things to say about vit. i mean really NASTY things like callin it a money making machine etc. etc.i know that vit was placed pretty high(14) in the india today ratings and its definitely hard to believe considerin the fact that last year it had gotten a rank of 40something. Theres like this entire "vit sucks" community.....whats the truth???
What i heard is that the labs and infra. and all that stuff is seriously amazing over there......

i m getting around 95-98 in VITEEE (i have a doubt in 3 questions' solutions).
however i m posting here for pure statistical reasons. my friends brother got around the same score last to last year, and he got a rank 7000 odd!! the catch here is that that paper was too simple, and at that time, semiconductors and communications was extensively covered in the CBSE syllabus too! i have kept VIT as my last option after IITs, BITS, and NITs

Vishal-56,you'll get some course in VIT as many have VIT as their last option.
Prashant-65 will be good enough for mech
agam-76 is good.I'm sure that the ans to diazotization and gas evolced is correct.

well,for nearly 80 i meant a good rank i.e. just inside the top 6000.
for 76, I made a mistake while reading marks,it should be 6000-7000 because there was no negative marking and many people are getting 70s.

Simi-For now,consider all answers to be correct and concentrate on AIEEE.
Amit-You'll get 6000-8000.
Chin-You might top.You're in the top 1000 for sure.Although I feel you can make it to the top 100 as well.You'll get Computer Sc for sure.
John-Mech has many seats so you have a fair chance of getting it.
Aman-Your rank is likely to be in the range of 6000-7000.You will be called for counseling but after the first 3 batches.
as you have said i will get Cs for sure,so should i choose VIT or IIT since i am getting near abt 210 in IIT
