Internet At MANIT-A Dream…

October 1, 2008 | By Naman Bagga | Filed in: MANIT Bhopal.

I mentioned in a few earlier posts that an internet lab was being built in my hostel. It has been built and computers have been placed there. The problem is that there are just 10 computers and 500 students. If each computer runs for 5 hours everyday, every student will get 30 minutes per week which is very difficult to manage. Thus the college has found an easy way out and is blaming it on the guy who has to come to set up the computers and internet.

The LAN ports in the rooms also don’t work.I talked to the caretaker about it and he said that the internet guy will be called just once and he would activate the LAN when he’s called for the internet lab.Basically I won’t be able to post frequently this year.I’ll be coming to Delhi once or twice a month so I’ll post at least once a month.

By the way,my mass bunk is on track.I called up a friend from college and he told me that there were just 4-6 people in the hostel. If everything stays this way,I’ll not be going back to Bhopal before 12th October.

  1. The only way people access internet is through their mobile phones.there’s no mobile tower in 650+ acres of campus so even GPRS doesn’t work often.
