INDIA CLINCH ODI SERIES

Rahul Dravid started the day in a perfect manner by winning the toss and electing to bat first. His aim was to get a good start after winning the 1st ODI by 5 wickets. He was looking to win the series by leading the 3 match series 2-0. The match started 30 mentioning thus I didn’t post about it. The standard of the game was quite low and fielding was very bad. M.S.Dhoni saved the game for India. The only positive which came from the match was that India got a win and regained some confidence. Moreover, the stupid news channels didn’t get an opportunity to show the team in bad light. I feel that the Indian cricket team is doing a good job and what happened at the World Cup was a consequence of bad luck. I just can’t understand why the country, the media and the board are after the team for doing too many endorsements. How does it matter? Bret Lee does many endorsements and he is even a member of a band. He also had time to come to India and sing a song with Asha Bhosle. Yet, he is one of the best bowlers in the world. I definitely feel that BCCI is blaming the players and their endorsements for the bad policies followed y the board.

The second ODI started with India’s batting. Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir opened the innings. Sehwag hit a six in the 7th over and gave away his wicket on the 4th ball of the 7th over by hitting an awful shot high into the air. M.S.Dhoni came to bat at number 3 after the loss of Sehwag’s wicket. He stayed on the crease for some time before he got out. Yuvraj Singh replaced him as he came at number 4. Gambhir and Yuvraj attacked during the third power-play(over 27- over 31). Yuvraj lost his wicket at the end of the 32nd over by hitting a silly shot. After the loss of Yuvraj, Rahul Dravid came to bat at number 5. Gautam Gambhir got his century off 111 balls by taking a single on the 5th ball of the 38th over. Virender Sehwag ran for him as he suffered from cramps. Gambhir got out bowled for 101 runs soon after he made his century. India ended up getting 284/8 in their 49 overs. Bangladesh ended up getting 238 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Thus, India won the match by 46 runs and they now lead the 3 match series 2-0. India performed much better in this match and I feel India will become a very strong team once Sachin and Saurav join it.
