You might think that I’m too repetitive with my posts but the truth is that Felipe Massa has decided to clinch pole positions for every Grand Prix this year. For the third consecutive time my post on F1 qualifying has a similar heading. I’m really excited about tomorrow’s race as Felipe Massa has clinched pole position. Fernando Alonso, the driver with the home advantage qualified 2nd and the second Ferrari driver, Kimi Raikkonen qualified third. I expect tomorrow’s race to be a close one. Let me give you the names of the top ten qualifiers.
The race like every European race will be very interesting to watch and you can watch the telecast of raceday live at IST. In case you miss the race, I’ll always be there to write a detailed post to keep you up to date with latest F1 action.
I’m really very excited and thrilled. Thus I couldn’t stop myself from writing this post. The reason for my excitement is obviously the Spanish Grand Prix which will be held this weekend. Something that has increased my excitement is that I don’t have a class in VMC on Saturday or Sunday. Mind you at VMC, classes are held on any day of the week. Thus, nobody can predict the schedule. The Spanish Grand Prix is special as after 3 races in Asia the formula 1 circuit has now moved to Europe where you can find the oldest built tracks. Formula 1 is like a religion in Europe. The teams enjoy in Europe as most of them are of European origin. The leading teams perform evenly in Europe as most of the testing is done here. The F1 are designed specifically to suit European circuits. For example-Ferrari have an edge in terms of performance at Monza or Mugello (Italy), where they do their testing. Spain is the home of Fernando Alonso and thus he will be getting a lot of support and television coverage this weekend. But I have a strong feeling that Ferrari will outperform McLaren at Spain, The championship standings (though they don’t matter 3 races into the season) are very close. Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso are leading with 22 points each. It’s going to be an exciting weekend so tune into Qualifying at IST, and as far as I remember Hong Kong Time.
I am a Micheal Schumacher fan as I’ve mentioned before and I’ve been watching F1 since 2000.In the process I’ve witnessed many Schumi victories.I remember some of them very well as they have left an impact on my mind. One of my favorites is the race at Spain in 2001.Mika Hakkinen was leading the race.He was more than 40 seconds ahead of Michael Schumacher and I had almost lost hope of a schumi win when suddenly Hakkinen’s engine blew up on the last lap of the race.Michael Schumacher overtook him as Hakkinen was out of the race and posted a memorable victory. It’s hard to describe emotion so have a look at the last lap yourself.
The EA Sports F1 2002 is one of the best F1 games released by Electronic Arts. The best part is that the controls are simple and the handling of the cars is good. Since it was made in 2002 the old qualifying rules are used and new driver like Fernando Alonso are not included in the game. Teams like Arrows, Minardi (today’s Torro Rosso Crosworth ) and Jordan (today’s Spyker Racing team) are included in this version. But that doesn’t hamper the joy and concentration involved in playing the game. New circuits like Sakhir in Bahrain, the one at Shanghai (China) and the circuit at Istanbul, Turkey are not included in the game.
The Game Menu-
The game comes with a telemetry feature, which gives you all telemetry data for your car on a particular lap including fuel load, tire tread and brake temperatures. The game is very close to real F1 racing as you can enable damage on accidents, fuel consumption and tire wear. The car handling turns horrible when your tires develop blisters and your car spins a lot in this case. You can enjoy racing simulation with cockpit and inner cockpit view. You can enhance your game play by changing audio to pit radio and by increasing the speech content. This is a good game if you are a true F1 fan. You can also capture some screenshots by pressing F12 key.
Screen shots from the game-
This game is one of my most favorite games. I play this game for hours and recommend it to all F1 fans. My rating for F1 2002 undoubtedly will be ***** (5/5). Sorry guys but this game is too big for me to give you a direct download link so you can get the game trial version from the link below
