MOVIE REVIEW:HEYY BABYY

Here's my review of Sajid Nadiadwala's latest movie Heyy Babyy. Here are my ratings-

My Rating-3.1/5
Content Rating-PG

Today,I have decided to give just one rating as there can be no two opinions regarding the movie.I was tempted to give the movie a 3.2 but i deducted 0.1 from the ratings as the movie ended with the message-"LOVE YOU SRK" which I didn't like. The movie is a comedy with a few serious patches in between. The cast is too large to mention but the lead actors are-Akshay Kumar,Ritesh Deshmukh,Fardeen Khan and Vidya Balan.

The movie has a good beginning with the title song being a nice introduction. The song has more than a dozen heroines having a role of 10 seconds each. The movie starts on a funny note and then becomes a bit serious like an ordinary movie. The serious part is punctuated by comedy which makes it entertaining.

The movie has a spoof of the movie-DDLJ i.e.-Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.A lean and funny looking Shah Rukh Khan has a special appearence for a song in his DDLJ role.I would rate Shah Rukh's designer-0.1/5 because 0 does not look nice.He was looking like a joker in the movie.

An Inference I made from the special thanks to SRK is that the 17 heroines having a 10-20 second role were paid and SRK wasn't paid for his appearance. One of the most important aspects of watching movies in a cinema hall is that you get to see some latest trailers. This one featured the trailer of Om Shanti Om.

The trailer of Om Shanti Om was not good enough to make me curious to watch the movie but I predict a good opening for it due to the Presence of Deepika Padukone who has been one of Google's top searched people. The movie looks like an old movie.Farah Khan has always had a fascination for movies like old ones.

If you want to know whether Heyy Babyy is worth watching,I'll give you an advice-watch it at least once. The movie is a must watch for feminists who like to see men being slapped by women.

Coke Zero-Real taste, zero sugar

Coca Cola has come out with a new diet cola-Coke zero. The Coke zeros campaign “Life as it should be” is real fun on the Internet.

It's a really cool campaign in which you can manipulate black&white film clips as the director by adding sound tracks to it.You can write the conversation to your own clip and say whatever you want.Your movie, then competes with other movies to be the top rated movie.I had great fun making my clip. You should try it out.I just simply loved it.

MASSA CONVERTS POLE LEADING FERRARI 1-2

Felipe Massa has started many races this year at pole position. The story was the same at Istanbul,Turkey on Saturday-25th August 2007.Ferrari dominated qualifying with Massa clinching pole position and Kimi Raikkonen qualifying on row two, just behind Massa at 3rd position. The McLaren cars did pretty well too but my concentration will be on Ferrari for this race as it was a Ferrari dominated one.

The race had a perfect start with Kimi Raikkonen making a good start and overtaking Lewis Hamilton to take second position. The race was dominated by Ferrari for the rest of the race. The Ferrari drivers developed a good gap between them and Lewis Hamilton's Mclaren.

The race had just one retirement as a result of Mark Webber's Mechanical Failure.Lewis Hamilton was looking set for yet another podium finish but a front tyre puncture 14 laps before the finish denied him the 3rd position and he finished 5th.Thus Fernando Alonso finished 3rd and Nick heidfeld finished 4th.

As a result of the Turkish Grand Prix,Ferrari have closed in on McLaren.McLaren now lead the constructor's championship by 11 points. Also is just 5 points behind Hamilton and Massa is not far behind. For a clearer idea of the intensity of competition here are the Driver's championship standings-

Lewis Hamilton Great Britain McLaren 84
Fernando Alonso Spain McLaren 79
Felipe Massa Brazil Ferrari 69
Kimi Raikkonen Finland Ferrari 68

ICC STINKS-INCOMPETENT UMPIRES TORTURE SACHIN

This is the first post of the ICC STINKS series of posts on Naman Zone. I’m totally furious after the second ODI between India and England. Yesterday, I was disgusted to see Sachin Tendulkar’s dismissal at a score of 99 runs. The umpire probably had a fight with his wife in the morning and transferred his frustration onto Sachin Tendulkar. A short-pitched bouncer from Flintoff hit Tendulkar’s elbow and the ball carried to the wicket keeper. Sachin Tendulkar clearly indicated to the umpire that the ball had made contact with his elbow. When the stupid and idiotic umpire gave him out, he stood in front of him in disgust for a few seconds hoping for a reversal that never came. The umpire didn’t care to bother the third umpire and ruined Sachin’s innings with his idiotic decision. Perhaps the umpire wasn’t on speaking terms with the third umpire. Who knows, the umpire might have a problem with Sachin Tendulkar.

Here are three of Sachin’s last 5 innings scores-93, 99 and 99. The figures speak perfectly about what Sachin has been through. Sachin Tendulkar has always been the victim of poor umpiring. He has been dismissed 13 times for a score between 90 and 99. I’m sure majority of these were wrong decisions by stupid, illiterate and incompetent umpires like the one in yesterday’s match.

When a batsman like Sachin Tendulkar is shaking his head over an umpire’s decision, he isn’t doing it because he has a survical pain or he wants to build his neck muscles. You need to take the players seriously. I don’t want to say that the umpires should discriminate between players. What I want to say is that an umpire should think twice when there is an element of doubt. You can’t just call it a human error and get away with it. The umpire should be made to face the consequence of his decision.

As far as ICC is concerned, it should keep a check on the umpires and should make some changes in the rules. It’s about time the use of technology is increased. I’ve had enough of stupid, arrogant and dumb umpires. The player’s should be allowed to challenge the umpire’s decision like they are allowed in tennis. This is the only way to keep the players and bloggers like me happy. This is all about Sachin’s torture.

Think of it this way, a youngster is tortured the way Sachin was yesterday. For instance, he faces a wrong decision at a score of a duck. The consequences could be disastrous. The match could slip out of the hands of the batting team. His career could be ruined. He’ll be left with his statistics, which would not have a column saying-“Number Of Wrong Decisions faced”.

Despite of the unfair competition between India XI and England XII (Obviously I’ve counted the stupid umpire), India managed to score 329/7, a total that is very difficult to chase. Thus, India ended up winning the match by restricting England to 320/8

HORRIBLE NEWS CHANNELS

News channels are supposed to be a source of information which is true and unbiased. Some news channels seem to have forgotten this.We have channels like CNN IBN messing up news. They told my friend Ankur Banerjee(GQ) to act as a student of class XII when we were in class XI.He was told to act as if he was to appear for IIT-JEE 2007.Almost everyone who knows GQ knows that he is a Linux enthusiast and simply hates Microsoft. How did CNN treat him? They said that had an ambition to become the CEO of Microsoft!!!They also renamed him-Ankur Bhattacharya. This is how a news bulletin is generated.

In another incident,Delhi Aaj Tak reporters asked three students of our school as if they were horrified over the CBSE syllabus change for Class XII.They were asked to express their anxiety about unavailability of textbooks. The textbooks were more or less available on time and nobody faced any problem.

I hope you are convinced about the fact that News Channels telecast more fiction and very little facts. They twist up the news and depict it as they want to and force their views on the public. Moreover, the crime shows are meant to scare and entertain people more than spreading awareness. The host looks like a convict ho escaped Tihar Jail.

Let me talk in terms of cricket now.Yesterday, when India lost to England in the first ODI of the series, the news channels grabbed this opportunity to fill their empty time slots with rubbish news about the match filled with exaggeration. The news bulletin said that all of the three senior players-Sachin Tendulkar,Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid failed to score well in the match as if the rest of the 8 players were incompetent and were playing just for the sake of playing.Cricket is supposed to be a game in which one team has to lose and the other has to win.Yesterday,it was not India's day.You can't just say that India performed poorly. The other aspect is that the England batsmen did a good job.Nobody blamed the bowlers who managed to get just two batsmen out.

I really prefer newspaper over a news channel as news looks like news in a newspaper and it is fiction once a news channel telecasts it.

VMC-EXTENDED CLASSROOM COURSE-2

In my post called VMC-EXTENDED CLASSROOM COURSE I had mentioned about writing a sequel. Here it is-

Today I'll describe two VMC teachers who have taught me for a short period of time but have changed my life and attitude remarkably

Rohit Goyal or Rohit Bhaiya as we call him at VMC is a brilliant maths teacher. He is a Computer Science student, studying in his 3rd year at IIT Delhi. He teaches Calculus at VMC and I attended his last class on Sunday. He is a person who is worth mentioning. He is good, both at teaching and at motivating us.He once told us in class that he is not one of the greatest students of IIT, but let me tell you he is one of the greatest maths teachers at VMC.He has a great sense of humor and makes classes interesting by describing his experiences at IIT.This serves as a source of extra motivation to study.I really hope my juniors are taught by him.

Ashish Bhaiya is a student of IIT Guwahati who came to New Delhi to teach us Solutions,an important topic of physical chemistry. He was brilliant at teaching it.I attended his class 2 months ago and still remember each and every word he said.At VMC,the teacher who is the best at teaching a particular topic teaches it to every single batch of ECC and sometimes even Regular batches.

I'm busy studying nowadays,so I'll keep this post short and write about a few teachers, the next time I write a post on VMC-ECC.

MOVIE REVIEW:CHAK DE INDIA

I've been watching a lot of movies lately. Here's my review of the latest YRF movie Chak De India.

My Rating-4.1/5

Have a look at the trailer before reading this review

What do you expect from this movie after watching this trailer?I know the answer-Not much.I didn't expect the movie to be worth a 4.1 on my blog. But trust me on this, the movie is good.

Another aspect which forced me to give this movie a rating of 4.1/5 is that the last few YRF movies have been awful. This one offers some respite. It has been seen with movies like Lagaan that the moment you introduce sports in movies the movie becomes an international match in which the audience enjoys itself cheering of India.

The storyline of the movie wasn't totally original. It reminded me of Bend it like Beckham. The story is about a retired player who retires at an unusual young age due to bad circumstances. He becomes the coach of the women's team. The girls face objection from their family. There are two forwards who play against each other striving for personal achievements.

The script is a strong one and you can relate to most of the part of it like state wise selection. There is however an exception that when Shah Rukh Khan congratulates the Pakistan team after losing the final the public reaction is extreme and he is called a traitor. This is not what happens in India.India has been shown in a bad light. After all sports is all about friendship.

There are a few technical errors in the movie.I'll share the one I noticed. In the world cup,Indian team defeats almost every team 1-0.Before the final, the two forwards have about 8 goals each. This is practically impossible and I would have rated this movie 4.2 if this error would not have been there in it.

Overall, you should go and watch the movie if you wish to and I promise you won't come home unsatisfied.Everybody has done a decent job and I expect this movie to be a big success.

I'M A CODE WARRIOR

In my post titled 3rd AT TECH EDGE I had forgotten to mention a point which GQ had added in his comment.I am now officially a Code Warrior.I wasn't expecting this at all.The reason being that I didn't go to BVN with a goal to win or to become a Code Warrior.Ankur had asked me before summer holidays if I was ready to go for a few competitions.I didn't say anything and he took it as a yes.

Later,Ankur told me that he would send me to a few competitions to gain experience and to get me used to the type of programs I'd have to make in those competitions.I hadn't done really well at the C.W.Intra.The day I had to go to BVN,I heard Bani Das,the teacher who is in charge of the Code Warriors asking Ankur why he wasn't sending the two children selected by the Intra.I had a brief thought that this could be my last chance but I knew that with Ankur as the President,my first chance could never be my last chance.

I feels great to be a code warrior. But that also means that I have an additional responsibility.I wanted to make this post short as I'm spending time on C++ graphics which is a must for all competitions.

BEWARE OF CASH

Here's another review of a horrible movie- Cash. Here go my ratings-

My Rating-1.6/5
Boo Rating- 4.5/5

As usual,I'll explain my ratings first.I've given a 1.6 to the movie for its decent music(not bad) and for the pinch of humor in the movie.I have given a Boo rating of 4.5 to the movie as you can fill a book of the size of Harry Potter discussing the flaws and weak points of the movie.

The movie is a total confusion with nothing right about it.Every 5 minutes,a new character is introduced and I got really confused. The acting was very ordinary.Anybody could have done this role. All,the actors had to do was to perform stunts(I wonder if they really did).

The songs were irrelevant and the movie was not interesting at all.The only way I got an idea that the movie was about to end was when I looked at my watch. You don't feel curious about the story.

I would advise you to avoid watching the movie at a night show even if your ticket is sponsored. There is no point to discuss about the cast as I feel that the cast was nothing but cars and other automobiles followed religiously by the cops.

I simply hated the movie and was feeling sleepy while watching it.I feel that Anubhav Sinha has decided to stick to films like DUS.But I feel that this movie is a big blunder. This movie is filled with confusing action sequences which I hate the most.

Another notable feature of the movie was that it was punctuated with some poor animations which were totally unnecessary for the movie. The movie was shot in South Africa and I'm sure this movie won't be able to recover its expenses.

I advise all of you to stay away from this movie at any cost. The movie is not worth spending your Cash!!

BLOGGERWAVE HAS EVOLVED

In my previous post on Bloggerwave called BLOGGERWAVE-NOT A SCAM I had included my conversations with Ulrik Svane Thomsen. You might remember(or just check it out) that in his last E-mail,he mentioned that he had signed up with a professional design company to re-design Bloggerwave.Today, while surfing I noticed that Bloggerwave has a new design and layout which is very different form PayPerPost.

I hope this is enough to convince people that Bloggerwave is not at all a scam and is nothing but a good blog advertising website like all others.I'm sure Bloggerwave will soon be able to provide more opportunities with it's cool new design.Mr. Ulrik, you were right,I really like the new design of bloggerwave. All the best!

WET DAY, HALF-DAY

Today, when I woke up it seemed to be a normal day for me except for the fact that it was raining as it had been all night long. I went to my bus stop at the usual time-6:40am. After waiting for 50 minutes, by school bus finally arrived at 7:30am.This was just the start of a tough day for me. My bus reached Dhaula Kuan at 8:00am.Here’s where all the drama started.

My bus had moved 500m in 1 hour at Dhaula Kuan. Time was passing by a bit faster for me, as it was entertaining to watch cars cross dividers. The traffic jam was a result of water logging at the underpass. Things were hopeless and started thinking in terms of reaching home and school was out of the reckoning.

At 9:00am another school bus had come from school to rescue us. The children of two bus routes were loaded into one bus. The other side of the road was clear and the teacher and the driver discussed their next destination. Finally, the bus left at 9:30am and the destination surprisingly was school.

It took the bus another 90 minutes to crawl to school. And there I was, reaching school during the recess. It took me a few minutes to explain this experience to everyone in the class. I was told that I had broken the previous record of 9:30am.

I hadn’t missed much as my chemistry teacher was a bit late. I enjoyed my half-day at school. I also made an observation that many students get tired by recess time. I felt very energetic. This was perhaps the only positive that came out of it.

The inter-class football matches scheduled for today were called off due to rain. Now I had better things to worry about. I had to reach home. I wasn’t carrying my mobile phone with me and knew that my parents would be worried about me if I wouldn’t reach on time. But I killed this thought after realising that my dad would have informed my family about the state if traffic on the roads.

I reached home one hour late at 3:30pm.The return journey had taken me 2 hours. At the end of the day I realized that I had spent more time in the bus than in school. This is all about my experience. Don’t you think it could have been worse? After all it was the first proper rain of the season. It rains for a few hours and this is what we have to deal with.

Who is to blame for it? You can’t blame rainfall as it is supposed to be natural. Now let’s move to our next target which is the target of the so-called news channels-MCD. What I feel is that blaming people for faults is not the end nor it is the solution of the problem. Forget about accountability we can’t do anything about it. The only solution is the improvement of drainage system which should be done by the MCD.

INDIA XI DEFEAT ENGLAND XII

The second test between India and England at Trent Bridge was literally a 11 vs 12 contest with umpire Simon Taufel helping England in India's first innings.Despite of all his efforts, India managed to defeat England by 7 wickets in the match. My heores for the match are Zaheer Khan,Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly.

India deserved to win this match as they had done everything right. The match had a few moments when the players got a bit verbal with each other but this is a part of test cricket. What I didn't like about the match was the wrong dismissal of Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly. In the last test match the umpire had reversed his decision when he wrongly adjudged Petersen's decision. If Wimbledon can use Hawk eye,why can't Cricket?

My statement is that when a cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar is standing and staring you after being dismissed,he isn't doing so because he likes your beautiful face.A batsman is not allowed to appeal against the umpire's decision. This the the most he can do.Such appeals should be considered by the umpires.

After this series of wrong LBW decisions, what is being discussed?I'll tell you.The umpires are blaming technology and not the ICC.Nobody wants to go back to the stone age.The technology should be utilized properly by changing the rules suitably.

I have no problem with Simon Taufel. He is the best umpire in the world right now.He has admitted his mistake. This is enough as far as I am concerned. But I feel that ICC should look into this matter carefully.

Another feature of the match was that when it was certain that India would win the match,England resorted to their favorite mode of bowling-Negative body line bowling.

On a lighter note the test match was a great one for India.India are now 1-0 up in the 3 test match series.I am looking forward to the last test match as I am sure it will be interesting.
