MOVIE REVIEW-JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM

June 18, 2007 by Naman Bagga | 3 Comments | Filed in Movies, Reviews

First of all,some Ratings-

Statutory Warning-Watching this movie can be injurious to your health.

Rating-1.4/5

Boo rating-4/5

First of all I would like you to know that boo rating is a measure of how bad a movie is.This is the term I'm going to use for horrible movies. The reason why I watch such movies is that I go to watch movies very often with my family. Thus, sometimes the movies don't end up to be nice.I would have loved to tell you the story. But the problem is that there wasn't any story.Anyways,I'll tell you what happens in the movie.

The movie revolves around mainly three people-Abhishek Bachchan,Priety Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan who appears, singing the title track and dancing on the Railway Station with some Brits. It seemed like he was upset that Hrithik Roshan was chosen for the Sony Ericsson advertisement-'The thump is here'.What I found most irritating was that there were too many songs and the songs were too long.I found myself banging my head, waiting for a couple of songs to end.I feel that this movie was really close to becoming an opera. The explaination for my ratings is- 0.4 for music and 1 for Amitabh Bachchan who did a nice job.Since he did not deliver any dialogue,I would regard his role as an item song split over the entire movie.

It is like an extended O Henry short story.Priety Zinta and Abhishek Bachchan lie to each other about being engaged to somebody and eventually fall in love in 2 hours as a result of the fake stories.Isin't it pathetic. The movie is punctuated with Lara Dutta and Bobby Deol.Overall, the movie is a collection of irritatingly long songs with a few dialogues in between.

So,I would like to give you a friendly advice-Please Please Please DON'T watch the movie. You'll feel pathetic after watching it.I feel that watching Shivaji (the new Rajnikant film) will be a better option.

US GP-HAMILTON WINS ANOTHER ONE

June 18, 2007 by Naman Bagga | No Comments | Filed in Formula 1

Lewis Hamlton won the United States Grand Prix finishing 2 seconds ahead of his teammate Fernando Alonso. But Ferrari were not far behind as Massa and Raikkonen finished 3rd and 4th respectively.

There was no change in the first four drivers since qualifying. All of them finished in the position they started the race from. This is a rare thing to happen at Indianapolis as the tracks are wide and there are many fast turns and two 180 degree turns. The straights provide good opportunity for overtaking and the extra long pitlane can have an effect on the course of the race.Turn 13 which is the only banked corner in F1can be and has proved to be a spot for incidents.Ralf Schumacher has experienced 2 crashes coming out of turn 13 and in the 2005 season 14 cars did not start the race(leaving 6) as Michelin failed to provide tyres that could survive the banked corner. The reason why I made this post a little late and a bit short will be mentioned soon.Overall,it was an intresting United States Grand Prix. Now lets move on to the championship standings.Lewis Hamilton is leading the standings and I feel that he can be a world champion this season.I feel that it is too early to mention points and constructors championship standings.

#P.S-Dan Lewis from New York sent me this,a few minutes after I made this post-

VMC: TS-5

June 15, 2007 by Naman Bagga | 2 Comments | Filed in IIT JEE, VMC:Vidyamandir Classes

This might be nothing new for some but like I always say,for those of you who don't know by now,Vidyamandir Classes will be organizing Test Series 5 on July 22 2007.Do you know what that means?Don't expect many posts these days,I'll have to restrict them to one or two per week.TS5 is supposed to be very crucial,so I have to prepare for it.Here's what the syllabus will be like(I'm not sure about 1-2 topics but this is what the syllabus will look like)-

Physics:Module 1-5,All topics
Chemistry: Module 1-5 and Electrochemistry 2 and The Chemistry of Grignard Reagent from module 6.Solid State from Module 5 might be excluded
Mathematics:Module 1-5 and Indefinite Integration from module 6

I thought that mentioning this will be useful to some as there's always some confusion about the syllabus.Frankly speaking, the syllabus doesn't matter at all.Your aim should be to prepare of JEE and not for TS5.The venues for the test will be SD Public School,Punjabi Bagh and Father Agnel School. If you have any inquiries about the location or anything else you can leave a comment.

For all my juniors in VMC I would like to advice them to listen to thier teachers and be regular.TS1 is supposed to be the easiest test of VMC.Things are going to get more complicated later,so try to master module 1 before TS1.I'm not really sure about TS1 dates but you can expect it in a month.

MY NEW MOUSE

June 13, 2007 by Naman Bagga | 2 Comments | Filed in General, Tech Talk

Till yesterday, I used a ball mouse for my PC. I finally bought my first optical mouse as my mouse started working mysteriously and I thought that it was time for it to reach the graveyard. The problem was that it clicked twice when I clicked once. To some, this might not sound a big problem but trust me on this; it is really difficult to work with a mysteriously behaving mouse. After using it for 6 years, I finally disconnected the Logitech ball mouse and connected my new mouse-the SAMSUNG ANYZEN S20P optical wheel mouse. You can have a look at it-

After disconnecting the Logitech mouse, I was eager to rip it apart and see what’s hidden inside. I was a bit nervous and as this could have been the last time I would have seen my mouse in one single piece. But I managed to assemble it again. It was simpler than I thought it would be. I don’t have the expertise to label each part and properly but I did what I could. Just have a look at it-

I separated each and every part and used my Canon Power Shot A430 to take these pictures. Here’s every part of my mouse. One thing I learned from this is that the structure of a mouse isn’t as complicated as I thought it would be. This was a ball mouse, I didn’t try to open my optical mouse and I don’t plan to for a few months. If I do manage to see what’s inside it, I’ll let you guys know about it.
